Anime Review #3: Lucky Star

So. What can I say? About Lucky Star, I mean. Haha...yeah, right.

Lucky Star will be my 3rd anime review and hopefully not the last. I plan to keep doing this throughout the summer ^^. So sit tight, foo.

Storyline
Ok, before I go into this topic, quick anime lesson:
Lucky Star is an anime based off of a manga type called 4 panel. This kind of manga is very similar to the comic strips that we see today in newspapers and comic strip collection books. However, unlike the common American comic strip, 4 panel manga has a very vague storyline that allows it to flow and become an anime series all by itself.
Keep that in mind as I continue with my review.
For a storyline, it's not really a story. Which I really like. 4 panel manga was such a breath of fresh air over regular manga and anime series. What Lucky Star is classified as is a "slice of life" anime. This means that there really isn't a main storyline, but rather bits and pieces of the main characters' lives. Even though there isn't a main storyline to review, the vaguer storyline is surprisingly good. It had a nice flow to it, and was very funny and interesting to watch.
Rating: 10/10

Characters

The characters in this anime are of a very good selection. There is such a wide variety of people in this series that keeps the anime fresh and fun. With over 20 different characters, this anime does not disappoint in this area. Each one is completely different from each other in their appearance and personalities. I might also add that the way the people are drawn in Lucky Star differs from most typical animes. Which is also a plus.
Rating: 10/10

Mood
Lucky Star is designed for people with short attention spans. Seriously. Each little "slice" of their life is so short and enjoyable. Lucky Star is one of the best comedies I've ever seen. By the way, I've read part of the manga, and from what I can tell, the anime follows pretty closely with the manga. Seriously, if this anime doesn't make you smile, go watch Elfen Lied.
Rating: 10/10

Uniqueness
I've said this already, and I'll say it again. Lucky Star is not like other anime. The way it is designed caught my attention and it should catch yours too. If you have a short attention span, this is definitely for you.
Rating: 10/10

Overall
This anime is one of the best I've ever seen. In my opinion. Once again, if you like things like Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece, stick to those. If you want to bring yourself to the other side of the anime world, you need to start off with this. Seriously, you probably never saw anything like this. The closest anime I ever saw to this was Azumanga Daioh. Go watch both of them, actually. You won't be disappointed.
Rating: 10/10

Man, I've watched Lucky Star about 6 times all the way through. It is my favorite anime. Whoops. Now you can see the bias ;]

Wow. Pretty much everything I've reviewed was good or really good. I guess I just have good taste. Just kidding, I'll find something bad/mediocre. Eventually.
